Full Time Testing Center Specialist

Summary:

The position of Testing Center Specialist, administers and supervises tests to students.

Responsibilities:

The position of Testing Center Specialist acts as a contact for Testing Center testing needs and inquiries. This position administers and supervises all types of tests offered and conducted through the Testing Center

Essential Duties:

Acts as a contact for TC testing needs and inquiries

Administers all types of tests offered through the Testing Center

Assists with opening and closing procedures for all testing activities

Communicates with Casper College departments, faculty, staff, students, testing company personnel, and community members to facilitate testing in the TC

Processes, files, and uses protocol updates for Casper College Digital Learning and make up testing

Assures that standards and procedures are maintained for all test types in accordance with the National College Testing Associations standards and guidelines, which provides best practices for testing

Accepts and processes requests for testing appointments

May Provide assistance and service to Casper College candidates with disabilities, who qualify for accommodations as determined by the Casper College Accommodative Services Counselor

Provides leadership for individual testing platforms (CLEP, ACT WorkKeys, etc.), as assigned, to assure that the most current protocols are used consistently and that accurate information is available to others on campus and in the community

Assists with mechanics of scheduling individual requests for testing appointments

Maintains confidentially of information and records; adheres to college, FERPA and other applicable regulations; has high level access to highly confidential records

Maintains files, documentation, and paperwork directly related to testing activities

Assists other Testing Center staff as necessary

Assists with documentation updates for testing center procedures as needed to support NCTA Testing Center Certification for the TC

Assists with the annual TC satisfaction survey

Maintains data from appropriate systems which track usage information and records

Assists with inventory of supplies

Attends training as needed to support testing activities

Is a member of NCTA and WyoCTA, professional testing organizations

Performs a variety of other duties as assigned

Work Environment:

Typical work environment is an office setting requiring normal safety precautions. Work is usually performed during the normal work day, however, occasional early morning, evening and weekend work may be required. Short periods of time will be spent outdoors travelling between campus buildings in various weather conditions.

Physical Demands:

Employee must be able to sit and stand for long periods of time, speak, hear, use hands and fingers to handle materials and use computers, feel, and reach with hands and arms. Occasional lifting of up to 15 pounds may be required. Less frequent lifting of up to 25 pounds may be required (office supplies, paper boxes, etc…).

Minimum Qualifications:

College course work in related field

Knowledge of:

National College Testing Association Standards & Guidelines for test administration

Excellent customer service practices and etiquette

Specific and varied procedures and protocols for Casper College Digital Learning class testing

Specific and varied procedures and protocols for Casper College make-up testing

Procedures for Casper College ADA testing to meet legal compliance requirements as communicated by the Casper College Accommodative Services Counselor

Specific and varied procedures and protocols to obtain and retain proctor certification for ALL testing companies with whom the ATC has contracts to administer tests.

Procedures to administer tests for other institutions

FERPA and other federal confidentiality regulations

Office equipment such as computers, administration computers, testing computers, printers, fax machine, photocopier, time stamp machine, telephone system, and camera surveillance system

Word processing, database and other related software applications

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and internet search engines

Ability to:

Consistently exercise good judgement with minimal supervision

Effectively communicate verbally and in writing, including accuracy and attention to detail

Work with constant interruptions

Be flexible and adapt to changing demands of the job or unusual circumstance

Interact effectively and professionally with a wide range of testing candidates

Explain to candidates and others about available testing and the TC requirements

Operate and troubleshoot PC and a variety of related software applications

Communicate with Casper College IT and other testing company Help Desks when major IT problems arise

Effectively organize and prioritize assigned work

Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other people

Desired Qualifications:

Associate or Bachelor’s degree or a combination of education and work experience in teaching, training, counseling, or testing
